04/02/2012 (Daily Times) - Two ships loaded/offloaded containers at Qasim International Container Terminal on Thursday, port sources said on Friday. Three more ships carrying containers, bitumen and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 31 percent on Thursday where four ships are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice and palm oil respectively. Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 59,952 tonnes, comprising 37,431 tonnes imports and 22,521 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,750 containers (TEUs). A container ship sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while another container ship is expected to sail the same day afternoon. app
