Crude Palm Oil Gains 0.13 Pc As Demand Picks Up
30/12/2011 (MSN) - Crude palm oil prices rose by 0.13 per cent to Rs 547 per 10 kg in the futures market today on the back of a pick-up in demand in the spot market and tight supply from producing regions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in January gained 70 paise, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 547 per 10 kg in 125 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for February contract delivery edged up by 60 paise, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 551.40 per 10 kg, with an open interest for 79 lots.
Market analysts said a pick-up in demand in the spot market and restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly pushed up crude palm oil futures.
