Shipping Activity at Port Qasim
16/11/2011 (Daily Times) - Two ships carrying LPG and furnace oil were berthed at Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal, respectively. Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers, palm oil and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy remained at the Port at 62 percent where nine ships namely CV Maersk Utah, MV Alexi, MV Safina-2, MT Golden Ambrosia, MT Bunga Alamanda, MV Al-Salam-II, MT Siva Coral, MT Fair Spirit and MV Kiran Africa were occupied at PQA berths to load or offload containers of cement, rice, chemicals, palm oil, diesel oil, furnace oil and sunflower seeds respectively during last 24 hours. Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 59,373 tonnes, comprising 50,551 tonnes imports and 8,822 tonnes exports inclusive containerised cargo carried in 426 containers was handled at the port. app.
