16/11/2011 (Jakarta Globe) - The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, an organization that promotes sustainable practices in the palm oil industry, appointed Bungaran Saragih, a former agriculture minister, as its new adviser in Indonesia, it said in a statement on Monday.

“His knowledge of the Indonesian palm oil sector will enable the RSPO to further discern the context of the Indonesian palm oil stakeholders and provide us with rich content for effective decisions, policies and initiatives,” said the group’s secretary general, Darrel Webber.­

Saragih was agriculture minister from 2001 to 2004.
