Shipping Activity at Port Qasim
10/11/2011 (Business Recorder) - Four ships carrying containers at QICT, Furnace Oil at FOTCO, Palm Oil at LCT and Sun Flower at FAP arrived during past 24 hours at Port Qasim, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority on Wednesday afternoon.
Berth occupancy was maintained at 55 percent with a total of five ships namely M.V. Maersk Kolkatta. M.V.Brindisi, M.T. Quetta, M.T. Bunga Angelica, M.V. Kiran Africa currently occupying berths to load/off load goods.
Containers of palm oil, furnace oil and sun flower seed were handled at the port during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling operWation were carried out smoothly at the Port where a cargo volume of 122378 tonnes, comprising 97062 tonnes import and 25316 tonnes during past 24 years was handled.
M.V. Maersk Kolkatta and M.V. MSC Brindisi sailed off to other destinations on Wednesday morning.
M.T Asphlt Merchant carrying chemical, M.V Safina-2 carrying rice, M.T Olympic Serenity with furnace oil and M.V Nelemaersk carrying containers are presently at the outer anchorage of the port.
