Pak-Malaysian Joint Ventures Emphasized
24/10/2011 (Pakistan Obserber) - Chairman Pak-Malaysia Business Council Bashir Jan Mohammad has informed that FPCCI and Pak-Malaysia Business Council, commonly emphasizing on Malaysian businessmen to invest here, stressed on expanding the joint ventures’ scope - that is at present focused only on palm oil - to imports of textile, rice, cement, vegetables & fruits from Pakistan. He was speaking on the occasion of a reception hosted in honor of the Malaysian delegates participating in the Expo.
Bashir Jan Mohammad maintained that only Malaysia was benefiting from current trade between the two countries. Pakistan imported palm oil worth $ 2 billion from Malaysia - the second biggest product after petroleum - while Pakistan was exporting seafood, cotton and rice worth only $ 194 million to Malaysia. He pointed out that since Pakistan was facing a severe energy crisis Malaysian investors could consider going into joint ventures in this and other fields.
President FPCCI Senator Haji Ghulam Ali said that in Pakistan’s present milieu Malaysians should fulfill their responsibilities as Muslims. He maintained that the successful holding of Expo helped in negating adverse western propaganda. Vice President FPCCI Usman Jakura presaged that Malaysian investors could get maximum return from business enterprises here.
