Sarawak Oil Palms to use RM37m to build new CPO mi

April 27 2005 - SARAWAK Oil Palms Bhd (SOPB) plans to spend RM79.5million to build a new crude palm oil (CPO) mill and upgrade its twoexisting mills.

The company told Bursa Malaysia Bhd yesterday that the new Lambir CPO Millwill replace an existing mill in the same estate.

The capacity of the mill will be 90 tonnes per hour and the budgetedconstruction cost of the mill including plant and machinery is aboutRM36.5 million.

Construction of the mill is expected to take about 24 months, and it isscheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2007.

Meanwhile, the two mills to be upgraded are Galasah CPO mill at a cost ofRM13 million, and RM30 million for Balingian CPO mill.
