06/08/2009 (FnB News.com) - Reliance Industries Ltd - PET division, leading manufacturers of PET resin in India, has announced 2nd national seminar on edible oil packaging - "Packaging trends and technologies for edible oil business solutions." The seminar will take place on August 21, 2009, at 4pm - ITC Mughal in Agra.

The half-day programme will explore the various advantages of using PET for edible oil packaging and the emerging global trends in PET packaging and filling. Last year in July, the company had organised the first edition of the national seminar on edible oil packaging in Mumbai.

"The second pan-India seminar is being planned by the PET Division of Reliance (RELPET) in association with the industry majors like M/s Sunrise Containers Ltd, Bericap India Pvt Ltd, Holland Colours and Sidel India Pvt Ltd. The idea is to engage with end-user industry to apprise them on the current scenario, global developments and market trends," the organising team at Agra told F&B News. The organisers are expecting over 100 delegates from end-to-end community including brand owners of edible oil majors, PET bottle suppliers and downstream industry to attend it.

Further, the seminar will also discuss various issues of the industry - role of PET packaging in today's retail scenario, availability of quality bottles, optimising weights and design solutions, closures, filling line, logistics & shelf life improvements, to enhance awareness of all the stakeholders and paper presentation from oil technology institute. "This seminar will be the 6th in the series for sectoral promotion by RIL PET division. The interactive sessions will provide an opportunity to understand the finer requirements of edible oil industry. It is set to address changing trends in the oil industry and showcase the growth, challenges and future of this industry in India focusing on consumer consumption habits," the organisers added.
