Ronser Aims To Tap Latin America Mart
22/04/2011 (Bernama) - Ronser Bio-Tech Sdn Bhd, an industrial wastewater treatment specialist, is set to tap the Latin American market with the appointment of Colombia-based Industria AVM S.A (AVM) as its sales representative there.
"We believe Ronser's technology, will gain acceptance quickly in Latin America, where countries such as Brazil and Colombia have identified palm oil as a viable feedstock for biodiesel," Deputy Chairman Woo Min Fong said.
"These countries are planning to invest in the industry in a very big way and since the Colombian authorities have also discouraged the use of open lagoon for treatment of palm oil mill effluent (POME), we see strong demand for Ronser's cutting edge technology," she said.
The company, which specialises in high-organic industrial wastewater treatment has been also awarded a contract by AVM to design a waste water treatment plant that will reduce discharge to nearly zero, she said in a statement Thursday.
She said the contract represented a significant breakthrough as the processing plant would use technologies owned and commercialised by Ronser.
Ronser, which owns 'AnaEGTM' and 'BioAXTM', two of the world's most advanced technologies in high-organic waste water treatment for agro-industries and municipal waste water, is also in the process of registering the patents in seven countries.
The countries are -- Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, Colombia, Brazil as well as USA, and the patents will be held jointly by Ronser and the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).
In pursuit of this collaboration, Ronser had set up a Green Technology Centre in MPOB's Palm Oil Mill Technology Research Centre (POMTEC) in Labu, Negeri Sembilan last year, she added.
