08/04/2011 (The Star) - The FBM KLCI ended lower by 4.44 points, or 0.28%, at 1,557.49 on Friday, amid profit taking activities in selected heavyweights.

Turnover was 1.67 billion shares done valued at RM2.12 billion. There were 418 gainers, 405 losers and 321 stocks unchanged.

Meanwhile, regional peers were largely up in their trade with Japan's Nikkei 225 gaining 1.85% to 9,768.08, Hang Seng Index increasing 0.47% to 24,396.07 and Singapore's STI was higher 0.49% to 3,187.31

The ringgit against the US dollar was quoted at 3.0215 against yesterday's close at 3.0270.

Crude oil was up at US$111.51, from yesterday's close of US$110.30.
