Malaysia\'s Sime Darby Says No Deal Signed on Cameroon
03/03/2011 (Reuters) - Malaysia's palm-to-property conglomerate Sime Darby said on Wednesday that it has not entered into any agreement to invest in Cameroon oil palm plantations.
The company was responding to a media report which said it was considering a $2.5 billion plantation expansion deal in the African nation.
Sime, the world's largest palm company by landbank size, said that it continues to explore investment opportunities and would make the necessary public announcements when an agreement has been reached.
The company recently reported its earnings for its second quarter, which saw its net profit more than double on-year owing to strong palm contributions.
