Palm oil output to rise to 46m tons: Oilworld
10/03/2010 (Business Times, Malaysia) - Global palm oil output will rise to 46 million metric tons in the year ending September, from 44.3 million tons a year earlier, according to the March 5 issue of Oil World, a newsletter that provides information on the oilseed industry.
Combined exports of oil made from soybeans, sunflower and rapeseed will drop 900,000 tons, it said, without citing the total volume of the forecast shipments.
The impact of dry weather on the Malaysian crop may be offset by the expansion in higher-yielding mature areas, putting the country’s output at 17.8 million tons this year, Oil World said.
Indonesia’s palm oil output may rise by 1.6 million tons to 22.5 million tons, it said.
