05/03/2009 (Business Times, Malaysia) - PALM oil millers are being encouraged to implement biogas trapping technology in order to reduce methane emission which contributes towards global warming, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui said.

He also said the implementation of the technology is still slow among millers in the country.

"With more than 400 palm oil millers in Malaysia, no more than 20 implement the technology," he told reporters after witnessing the signing of aLicence and Technical Agreement between OCNED Water Technology Sdn Bhd andSumitomo Heavy Industries Environment Co Ltd here today.
