24/12/2008 (The Post), Islamabad - Despite 70 percent decline in edible oil prices in the international market, edible oil and ghee prices in Pakistan declined by 10 percent only.

According to Retail Grocers Group the palm oil price increased to $1340 per ton in the international market this year, but due to certain factors, it started decreasing since then, a private TV report said.

Presently, palm oil price plummeting by 70 percent stood at $350 per ton, while the branded companies in the country reduced the prices of edible oil by mere 10 percent only.

Branded edible oil and ghee currently were selling at Rs125 per kg down from Rs 140, said the Retail Grocers Group.
