22/12/2008 (TEMPO Interactive), Jakarta - The Forum for Seeds Producers Cooperation is preparing a plasma program to seek superior palm oil seeds in Angola, Nigeria and Brazil. "The previous program in Cameroon was successful. The program is scheduled to be continued in the three countries," said Forum chairman Dwi Asmono following a meeting at the Agriculture Department last Friday.

Dwi also said that 40.000 seedlings from 103 palm oil varieties are ready to be planted. As many as 103 palm oil varieties are being produced by PT Sofindo before the seeding period. "The program will produce 40.000 seeds. Around 135 palm oil trees will be planted in one hectare," Dwi said.
