World palm oil supplies under pressure: Mistry
25/02/2008 (Reuters) - "It certainly looks like supply will not be able to overwhelm demand," Mistry told Reuters in an interview ahead of a three-day global palm oil conference organized by Bursa Malaysia.
"From November to January, China imported a million tones of edible oil each month. That's all vegetable oils put together. That's a huge number -- something the market was not ready for. It certainly looks like the same problem as in India."
Mistry, a director of India's Godrej International Ltd, is expected to present his paper on the price outlook for palm oil on Wednesday.
