KUALA TERENGGANU, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- Felcra Berhad will build a RM30 million oil palm processing plant in Marang next year.

Felcra chief executive Datuk Abdul Rahman Daud said the plant would be able to process up to 40 metric tonnes of the fruit in an hour.

"We've identified the area but will announce the details later," he said here today at a ceremony Felcra participants in the state received dividends from Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.

Abdul Rahman also said Felcra would also build 20 tiger prawn ponds in Jenam, Marang, under the Hardcore Poor Development Programme.

On the dividends, he said Felcra would disburse RM15 million to 3,740 members in Terengganu. Of the total, RM5.5 million would be paid by year-end.
