Andantara Jajaki Investment Fund with Egypt, Refinery Sawit to be discussed
11/10/2026 (VOI), Jakarta - Indonesia and Egypt are exploring investment cooperation through Danantara and the Egyptian wealth management institution, Future Wealth Fund. One of the projects that began to be discussed was the construction of a refinery or palm oil processing facility in Egypt.
The Minister of Investment and Industrialization/Head of BKPM and Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani said the Egyptian government had prepared land for the project.
"If the investment is we will work with Danantara on the wealth fund with the name Future Wealth Fund and also cooperation in the field of palm oil, CPO," said Rosan at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Sunday, October 11.
According to Rosan, Egypt is one of the countries that import a large amount of palm oil from Indonesia. Therefore, the development of processing facilities in the country is one of the opportunities being explored.
"Land has been provided there to build a refinery and palm oil because they also import a lot of palm oil from Indonesia," he said.
However, the value of investment from the cooperation plan has not been determined.
When asked how much it was worth, Rosan said further discussion was still needed.
"Not yet, later I have to talk directly to the investment ministry," he said.
Rosan also clarified the figure of 5 billion US dollars that had previously appeared in the discussion of the Indonesian-Egyptian economic relations.
According to Rosan, the figure is not an investment value, but a trade target for the two countries until 2030.
"Oh, it's for 2030, for trade, trade between the two countries is expected to be 5 billion US dollars by 2030," said Rosan.
The cooperation of investment funds and palm oil processing is part of the economic discussion accompanying President Prabowo Subianto's meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at Istana Merdeka.
