Ecoscience wins RM55.8 mil design-build job for palm oil mill in Sabah
20/11/2025 (The Edge Malaysia), Kuala Lumpur - Ecoscience International Bhd (KL:EIB) has secured a RM55.85 million contract for the design-build and turnkey replacement of plant and machinery for a 30-tonne-per-hour palm oil mill in Sabah.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said its wholly-owned unit, Ecoscience Manufacturing & Engineering Sdn Bhd, received the letter of award from Genting Oil Mills (Sabah) Sdn Bhd on Thursday.
The contract involves works at the Genting Sabapalm Oil Mill, with design preparations to begin on Dec 1, 2025. Full project commencement is scheduled for Jan 31, 2026 and to be completed within 23 months, or by Dec 31, 2027.
On the financial front, the Johor-based turnkey contractor, which positions itself as a one-stop solutions provider for the palm oil industry, has been loss-making since its listing on the ACE Market in July 2022.
For the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 (2QFY2025), Ecoscience narrowed its net loss to RM1.38 million from RM2.36 million a year earlier.
Revenue for the quarter rose 17.82% year-on-year to RM34.54 million, driven by a higher number of construction projects that enabled increased progressive claims.
Shares of Ecoscience were last traded at 11.5 sen on Wednesday, with a market capitalisation of RM43.01 million.
