Tabung Haji To Open Two New Oil Palm Plantations
BESUT, May 14 (Bernama) -- Tabung Haji through its subsidiary TH Plantations Bhd will open two new plantations totalling 2,660 hectares in Terengganu and Pahang to expand palm oil production.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Abdullah Md Zin said the 2,280 hectares plantation in Terengganu and 380 hectares in Pahang would help enhance palm oil output in anticipation of greater demand due to the bio-diesel being promoted as an alternative fuel.
"TH Plantation would also get involved seriously in the halal and palm oil based food production sector currently in demand in Islamic countries," he said.
Those who have the capital and the expertise are invited to establish joint venture with Tabung Haji.
He said this to reporters after officiating the National Education Savings Scheme Promotions (SSPN) for the Besut Parliamentary Constituency in Dewan Nurul Ehsan, here.
