Felcra announces RM101 million interim profit distribution for 2025
17/08/2025 (The Vides.com) - FELCRA Berhad has announced an interim profit distribution totalling RM101 million for the year 2025, benefiting some 74,300 participants across the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, said the payment, covering 646 profitable projects, would be made in stages beginning Sunday.
“The overall performance of Felcra’s consolidation and recovery projects up to April 2025 reached RM178 million. Of this, RM101 million is being distributed as the first interim profit for this year,” he said.
“This marks an increase of nearly RM2 million compared to the same period last year, and I congratulate Felcra for maintaining strong performance,” he added in his speech at the Interim Profit Declaration Ceremony 1/2025, held at the Felcra Plantation Sdn Bhd Seed Centre on Sunday.
Also in attendance were Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Rubiah Wang, and Chief Executive Officer of Felcra Berhad, Datuk Idris Lasim.
The increase in returns was largely attributed to an 81 per cent rise in net profits from palm oil projects, a higher average crude palm oil price of RM4,423.83 per metric tonne, and operational efficiencies that lowered costs by 15 per cent.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Minister of Rural and Regional Development, expressed hope that the payout would serve not only as financial relief but also as a catalyst for participants to further develop their respective projects.
“Let this profit serve as capital to boost productivity, adopt new technology, and strengthen competitiveness so that Felcra continues to be a pillar of rural economic development,” he said.
In addition, Ahmad Zahid announced the commercialisation of Felcra’s MRQ 107 rice variety—a locally developed fragrant rice introduced as an alternative to imported brands.
He described the variety as naturally aromatic with a soft, pleasant texture, and noted that it supports the country’s food security policy.
“Felcra must ensure that production reaches 3,000 metric tonnes this year, and doubles to 6,000 metric tonnes in the future.
“Let this effort not be merely about placing a brand on a bag, but about ensuring the product stands on equal footing with other established names in the market,” he said. - August 17, 2025
