14/10/2024 (Ofi Magazine) - Daabon UK, part of the Daabon Group, has launched a carbon-neutral organic palm oil range.

The carbon-neutral organic palm oil was produced at Daabon’s CI Tequendama SAS mill in northern Colombia, the company said on 4 October.

“Our next step is to replicate this at our other refinery, with the eventual goal of making all the palm oil we offer become carbon-negative and climate-positive,” Manuel Davila, managing director of Daabon UK and the EU, said.

“Of course, there is still some way to go to cut the emissions associated with onward transport and global shipping.”

As a signatory of the Climate Pledge, Daabon has committed to having net zero carbon emissions by 2040.

As well as palm oil, the family-owned Daabon group also produces avocados, bananas, cocoa, coffee and limes.

Founded in 1914, the Daabon Group is headquartered in Santa Marta, Colombia and has offices on five continents.
