Cameroon's Palm-Oil Output Is Expected to Rise 10%
07/06/2022 (Market Watch), Cameroon - Palm oil produced in Cameroon is expected to rise by 10% this year, according to a forecast released Monday by the Bank of Central African States, or BEAC.
Cameroon is expected to produce about 30,000 metric tons more of palm oil in 2022 compared with 300,000 tons produced in 2021, BEAC said.
BEAC serves collectively as the central bank of Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
The bank attributed the increase to good weather and production from new farms, although the production would have been higher if not for the unrests in the formerly prominent palm-oil-producing southwest region.
