World Production Of Oils And Fats To Increase This Year

KUALA LUMPUR, June 13 (Bernama) -- The production of world oils and fatsis expected to increase this year, but only marginally by 2.9 percent to117.5 milion tonnes, following another expected rise in the production ofboth palm and soybean oils, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board said.

In its Review of the Malaysian Oil Palm Industry 2000 released hereWednesday, the board said that groundnut oil output was likely to increaseby 5.4 percent while coconut oil production was projected to go up by 6.0percent.

In contrast, the production of sunflower oil and rapeseed oil is expectedto decline by 0.46 million tonnes and 0.01 million tonnes respectively.
