CHINA ISSUES 700,000 T PALM OIL IMPORT QUOTAS

BEIJING, July 13 (Reuters) - China has issued a fresh batch of palm oilimport quotas allowing the import of another 700,000 tonnes this year,traders told Reuters on Friday."The State Development Planning Commission has issued the quotas," saida trader at a state-owned grains trading firm.Large companies affiliated to the government had already received theirquotas, but provincial importers were still awaiting their allocations,she said.Of the total, 100,000 tonnes were going to joint-venture companies, shesaid.In January, the government issued quotas for the import of 600,000tonnes of palm oil in the first half of the year and in May it issuedquotas for another 100,000 tonnes.
