KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 (Bernama) -- In view of the increasing palm oilproduction, Malaysian producers need to expand their exports to other newmarkets.

Khoo Khee Ming from the Malaysian Palm Oil Association said that themarketing and promotion sectors will have to take off beyond thetraditional markets to realise it (expanding the market).

"Having reached where we are, the industry is now looking towards otherstrategic improvements," he said in his working paper entitled "DevelopingTrends in the Malaysian Palm Oil Industry" presented at the InternationalPalm Oil Congress 2001 (PIPOC 2001) here Monday.

He said that marketing and promotion must be followed by technical supportto ensure that the right products of the best quality were available tothe new markets. -- BERNAMA
