China imports 23.7 percent less palm oil in 2019's December

MENAFN (08/02/2020) - The General Administration of Customs in China said that the country has witnessed a drop of 23.7 percent in its palm oil imports in December of the earlier year 2019 compared to a year earlier.

The imports of palm oil in China decreased around 14 percent in December 2019 compared to a month earlier to set at 723,237.75 tonnes in December.

The country has imported 455,113.8 palm oil tons from Indonesia out of the total, which is the biggest producer of palm oil in the world, showing an increase of 47.7 percent since a year ago and a drop of 18.54 compared to a month ago.

The country saw 267,634.65 palm oil tons imported in December from Malaysia, representing a yearly drop of 3.1 percent and a monthly drop of 4.6 percent.
