12 Sept 2019 (Yahoo Singapore News ) (Reuters) KUALA LUMPUR, - Malaysian palm oil futures moved in a range in early trade on Thursday, as boost from overnight gains in U.S. soyoil on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) were checked by a stronger ringgit. The benchmark palm oil contract for November delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange was last trading flat at 2,206 ringgit per tonne around 0316 GMT. U.S. soyoil futures on the CBOT rose 1.1% on Wednesday, and were last up 0.2% on Thursday. The ringgit, palm's currency of trade, strengthened against the dollar by 0.2% to 4.1710 on Thursday, making it more expensive for foreign buyers.

FUNDAMENTALS * Palm oil may fall into a range of 2,166-2,183 ringgit per tonne, said Wang Tao, a Reuters market analyst for commodities and energy technicals. * U.S. soybeans rose more than 0.5% on Thursday, as traders squared positions ahead of a widely watched U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) report scheduled to be released later in the session. * Oil prices bounced back from heavy losses in the previous session, buoyed by steps to ease trade tensions between Washington and Beijing, and a drop in U.S. crude inventories to their lowest in nearly a year.

MARKET NEWS * Asian stocks hit a six-week high on hopes for a de-escalation in U.S.-China trade frictions and expectations that the European Central Bank would kick off another wave of monetary easing by global central banks. * Wall Street moved higher on Wednesday, led by tariff-sensitive technology and industrial stocks after China extended an olive branch ahead of next month's trade negotiations with the United States. * An exchange of olive branches between Washington and Beijing on trade pushed the dollar to a six-week high against the safe-haven yen on Thursday and also supported the risk-sensitive currencies of China, Australia and South Korea.
