Malaysia keeps March crude palm oil export duty at 0 pct
Reuters (18/02/2019) - KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 (Reuters) - Malaysia kept its export duty on crude palm oil for March at zero percent, according to a circular on the Malaysian Palm Oil Board’s website on Monday that cited the national customs department.
The duty has been at zero percent since September.
Malaysia, the world’s second-largest producer of palm oil, calculated a palm oil reference price of 2,084.37 ringgit ($511.88) per tonne for March. Any price above 2,250 ringgit incurs a duty.
Malaysian benchmark palm oil futures fell 1 percent to 2,254 ringgit a tonne on Friday evening. ($1 = 4.0720 ringgit) (Reporting by Emily Chow; Editing by Joseph Radford)
