Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch Thursday Dec 6
06.12.2018 (The Star Online) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Thursday Dec 6.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures fell more than 1 percent on Wednesday due to expectations of rising inventories in Malaysia and a change in Indonesia's export levy rules.
* U.S. soybean futures inched higher for a fourth straight session on Wednesday in light trading as investors sought clues as to whether a truce between Washington and Beijing in their trade dispute would revive U.S. soybean sales to China.
* Oil prices dipped on Wednesday ahead of a meeting of the world's biggest exporters, who will discuss cutting output to help shore up prices and curb excess supply.
MARKET NEWS
* U.S. stock futures tumbled on Thursday and Asian markets followed after Canadian authorities arrested a top executive of Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies, fanning fears of further tensions between China and the United States.
