PORT DICKSON, May 20 (Bernama) -- Guthrie Bhd is confident of achievingthe group's 2525 vision soon, said group chief executive Tan Sri AbdulKhalid Ibrahim.

He said that the 2525 vision was created four years ago where the groupset a projection for its plantations to produce 25 metric tonnes of oilpalm per hectare.

Currently, Guthrie-owned plantations could produce between 18 to 20 metrictonnes of oil palm per ha.

Abdul Khalid was was confident that with efficient management, theprojection of 25 metric tonnes could be achieved soon.

The 2525 vision also wanted its oil palm mills to achieve a 25 percent oilextraction rate (OER), he said when apporoached after visiting the GuthrieTraining Centre at Ladang Sua Betong, near here today.

He said that of the 100 metric tonnes of oil palm processed, the millsmust get 25 metric tonnes of palm oil.

In fact one mill, the Jelita Bumi in Sabah, could already produced 24.53percent OER in March, the highest ever achieved.
