The Star Online (16/08/2018) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Thursday Aug 16.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures fell on Wednesday to their lowest in nearly two weeks in the second half of trade, tracking losses in U.S. soyoil and on weak export demand.
* U.S. grains and oilseed futures fell on Wednesday, pressured by broad selling in commodities and equities as a firmer dollar prompted worries about export prospects for American supplies, traders and analysts said.
* Oil futures slid on Wednesday, with U.S. crude settling 3 percent lower after government data showed a surprise weekly increase in domestic crude stockpiles, compounding worries about the global economic growth outlook.
MARKET NEWS
* Equities around the world took a dive led by emerging market stocks on Wednesday and commodities tumbled as investors looked for safety due to worries about China and Turkey.
