Groundnut oil rises on increased offtake

The Times of India (01/08/2018) - New Delhi, Aug 1 () Groundnut oil prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today due to increased offtake by vanaspati millers buying following an uptick in demand from retailers.

Linseed oil in the non-edible section, also traded higher on fresh enquiries from consuming consuming industries.

Traders said fresh buying by vanaspati millers following a pick up in demand from retailers against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly pushed up groundnut oil prices.

In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) oil shot up by Rs 200 to Rs 8,900 per quintal. Groundnut solvent refined followed suit and edged up by Rs 1,760-1,860 per tin.

Among non-edibles, linseed oil also traded higher by Rs 100 to Rs 9,600 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut seed Rs 2,150-2,900, Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 800-1,000.

Edible oils: Groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) Rs 8,900, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,760-1,860, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 8,000, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,345-1,445, Sesame mill delivery Rs 10,000, Soybean Refined mill delivery (Indore) Rs 7,600, Soybean Degum (Kandla) Rs 7,200, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 5,500, Cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) Rs 7,600, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 6,800, Palmolein (Kandla)

Rs 6,850 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 3,100-3,150.
