Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch friday Mar 30
30.03.2018 (The Star Online) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Friday March 30.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures fell on Thursday in its third straight session of declines, tracking weakness in related oils on the U.S. Chicago Board of Trade and China's Dalian Commodity Exchange.
* U.S. corn futures jumped nearly 4 percent on Thursday and soybeans surged more than 2 percent after the U.S. Department of Agriculture stunned traders by projecting a year-on-year decline in soybean plantings and a larger-than-expected drop in corn acres.
* Oil prices rose on Thursday as the equities markets rallied and as market participants weighed a rise in U.S. crude inventories and production against continued OPEC supply curbs.
MARKET NEWS
* Stocks steadied on Thursday, after a woeful week for major technology companies, even as global equities careened towards their first quarterly drop in two years.
