Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch Wednesday Nov 29
The Star Online (29/11/2017) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Thursday Nov 29.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures charted a second consecutive day of losses on Tuesday evening despite seeing gains earlier in the day, as a stronger ringgit, which makes the tropical oil more expensive for foreign buyers and aids demand, weighed on prices.
* U.S. December corn futures fell to a life-of-contract low on Tuesday on technical selling and ample global supplies, traders said.
* Oil prices eased on Tuesday, weighed down by uncertainty over the outcome of an OPEC meeting this week at which an extension to its price-supporting oil output cuts will be discussed.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian shares rose and the dollar held firm on Wednesday after Wall Street shot to record peaks amid signs of progress on U.S. tax cuts, upbeat economic data and bank-friendly comments from
the would-be head of the Federal Reserve.
