Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch Wednesday Nov 8
08/11/2017 (The Star Online) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Wednesday Nov 8.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures rose slightly in evening trade on Tuesday, snapping three sessions of declines as they tracked overnight strength in Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soyoil.
* U.S. wheat futures fell on Tuesday after a weekly government report said the recently planted winter crop was in better-than-expected shape and as a firming dollar created a headwind for the grain in export markets.
* Oil settled lower on Tuesday after rising to the highest since July 2015 the previous day, while tension flared between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and the Saudi crown prince tightened his grip on power.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian shares paused at decade peaks and the dollar dipped on Wednesday amid concerns Republican plans for major U.S. tax cuts were running into headwinds even before the Senate releases its own version of the proposals.
