US soybean crop 70% harvested, below five-year average: USDA
24/10/2017 (UkrAgroConsult) - Farmers have harvested 70% of the US soybean crop, the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service crop progress report for the week ended Sunday showed, putting the harvest 3 percentage points behind the five-year average for this point in the year.
Ten of 18 states are behind in the harvest, including Iowa (61% this year compared with an 81% five-year average), Nebraska (67% vs 83%) and Minnesota (83% vs 93%).
The soybean harvest is also 4% behind last year's harvest, which was 74% completed at this point in 2016. The 18 states surveyed also have planted 95% of the 2016 soybean acreage, the report said.
