11/09/2017 (Netralnews) - Vice President Jusuf "JK" Kalla is on an honorary visit to Kazakhstan Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev at the Prime Minister's Office of Kazakhstan in Astana.

JK sees Indonesia has potential to increase exports and imports with Kazakhstan, which is currently not optimal.

"So far, the trade relationship is also small, because the distance is not easy. But there is potential to increase our exports and imports from Kazakhstan," said JK in Astana, Saturday (9/9/2017).

JK said the export and import potentials, for example, are flour from Kazakhstan and palm oil, coffee and tea from Indonesia.

According to the Vice President JK, the low import and export with Kazakhstan aside from the considerable distance with Indonesia is also because of the difficulty of transportation and there is no port in Kazakhstan that has no sea.

In addition to discussing the potential of import-export, in the bilateral meeting, JK also took the opportunity to ask for support on several matters and discuss the implementation of all Islamic state programs in the field of technology.

JK traveled to Kazakhstan in order to attend the First Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Science and Technology.

The two-day summit will be opened by President Kazakshtan at the Palace of Independence, Astana, Kazakhstan, Sunday (9/10)
