Malaysian palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch Thursday July 13
13/07/2017 (The Star Online) - KUALA LUPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Thursday July 13.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures gave up early gains to close slightly lower on Wednesday, tracking weakness in related edible oils in Chicago and on China's Dalian Commodity Exchange.
* U.S. corn futures fell 4 percent on Wednesday after the U.S. Department of Agriculture raised its U.S. old- and new-crop corn ending stocks forecasts more than most analysts expected.
* Oil futures rose, maintaining some gains from earlier in the day, as a report showing hefty drawdowns in U.S. crude inventories was offset by data pointing to lackluster gasoline demand.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian shares scaled a two-year top on Thursday as investors wagered policy tightening in the United States would be glacial at best, lifting Wall Street to record peaks and lowering bond yields almost everywhere.
