28/03/2017 (The Star Online) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Tuesday March 28.

FUNDAMENTALS

* Malaysian palm oil futures fell to their lowest in more than five months on Monday in a third consecutive session of losses, weighed down by weaker performing related vegetable oils.

* U.S. wheat, corn and soybean futures fell to their lowest this year on Monday, pressured by abundant global grain and oilseed supplies and outlooks for crop-friendly rain in the southern Plains wheat belt, traders said.

* Oil resumed its slide on Monday as investors remained uncertain whether producing nations would extend an OPEC-led output cut beyond the end of June in an effort to reduce a global glut of crude.

MARKET NEWS

* Stocks, the dollar and U.S. long-dated Treasury yields steadied after sharp drops on Monday, as investors hoped U.S. President Donald Trump will be able to bolster the economy despite a defeat over healthcare reform.
