15/02/2017 (Associated Press of Pakistan) - Five ships C.V Express Kailash, M.V YM Miranda, M.V Du Tuan Song, M.V Astraea Posidonia and M.T SC Behai carrying containers, chemicals, project cargo, canola seeds and palm oil were arranged berthing at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Grain, Fertilizer Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile three more ships, MSC Messina, Jazan and Harmony-1 with Containers and Furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) duning last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was reported at the Port at sixty percent on Sunday where a total of nine ships namely MSC Elma, Express Kailash, Nicoline Maersk, YM Miranda, Du Tuan Song, Astraea SB, SC Behai, Maran Gas Posidonia and Pacific Gas are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Chemicals, Project Cargo, Canola Seeds, Palm oil, LNG and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 95,437 tonnes, comprising 41,838 tonnes import cargo and 53,599 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,272 containers (TEUs) 451 imports TUEs & 2,821 TUEs exports) was handled at the Port.

Two ships, Nicoline Maersk and Express Kailash sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships Maran Gas Posidonia and Pacific Gas are expected to sail on same day.

Three ships C.V Jazan, C.V MSC Messina and M.T Arietis carrying Containers and Furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT and FOTCO respectively on Monday February 13, while three more containers ships Maersk Pittsburgh.—APP
