Malaysian Palm Oil Dominates in Ukrainian Palm Oil Imports
23/09/2016 (UkrAgroConsult) - In August Ukraine imported 16 KMT of palm oil against 12.3 KMT in July 2016 and 12.8 KMT in August 2015, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Total volume imported in 2015/16 (September-August) was 24% higher than over the last season. Thus, total imports equaled 181.2 KMT against 145.7 KMT in 2015/16.
Malaysia and Indonesia traditionally remained the main suppliers of palm oil in 2015/16, though their shares in Ukrainian palm oil imports have changed dramatically over the last decade. In 2006/07 shipments from Indonesia equaled more than 80% and from Malaysia – 12.5%, but in 2015/16 Malaysian share grew to 62% (112 KMT), and Indonesian – lowered to 30% (55 KMT).
