29/08/2016 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures posted a second straight session of losses on Friday, pulled down by weaker-performing rival oils, and charted a weekly loss following three weeks of gains.
* Wheat futures dropped to their lowest price in Chicago in nearly a decade on Friday, pressured by ample supplies and technical selling.
* Oil prices were largely unchanged on Friday in a volatile session, as traders reacted to comments from Fed Chair Janet Yellen and reports of missile activity in Saudi Arabia.
MARKET NEWS
* U.S. stocks closed lower in choppy trading and the U.S. dollar surged on Friday as investors grappled with the possible timing of an interest rate hike after comments from several Federal Reserve officials, including Chair Janet Yellen.
