01/07/2016 (UkrAgroConsult) - Issue of palm oil application in food production was raised again in Russia. This time disagreement arose between Ministry of economic development and RosPotrebNadzor. The latter is trying to bring Russian norms in conformity with international standards in veg oil production, processing, storage and transportation. Ministry refused the idea of RosPotrebNadzor to implement a new indicator of tropical oils safety, including palm oil, which will put additional barriers for entrepreneurs and the requirement to refine will be obligatory, which UkrAgroConsult had already mentioned. In its turn, this requirement will influence the volumes of palm oil imports to Russia.
