23/06/2016 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.

FUNDAMENTALS

* Benchmark Malaysian palm oil futures rose on short-covering on Friday following two sessions of losses and as surveys showed exports picked up in May, but lost more than 2 percent on the week, its second straight weekly decline.

* U.S. soybean meal futures climbed to 18-month highs on Friday as short-covering and concerns about tightening exports from Argentina, the top shipper of the livestock feed, helped to fuel gains.

* Oil prices slipped in early Asian trade on Monday on a strong dollar as the odds grow of a June or July rate hike, and signs that global oil supply is holding up even as unplanned outages rise to at least a five-year high.

MARKET NEWS

* Global equity markets rose on Friday as investors took in stride the possibility the Federal Reserve may hike interest rates in June, a view that helped U.S. bond yields to rise and lifted the dollar to a third straight week of gains.
