VEGOILS-Market Factors To Watch April 19
19/04/2016 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures made some gains in Monday trade, rising after two consecutive weeks of losses as a weaker ringgit MYR= and improving exports supported the market.
* Wheat futures on the Chicago Board of Trade Wc1 surged more than 3 percent on Monday, notching their biggest daily gains since October as investors liquidated a portion of the record-large short stake, traders said.
* Oil prices slid on Monday after a plan by major oil producers to freeze production was scuttled, but a Kuwaiti oil industry strike helped the market pare losses and settle off the day's lows.
MARKET NEWS
* Oil prices edged lower on Monday after producers failed to agree on a plan to curb global supply at a meeting in Qatar, while world stock markets rose and the Dow Jones industrial average closed above 18,000 for the first time since July.
