12/01/2016 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Tuesday Jan 12.

FUNDAMENTALS
*  Malaysian palm oil futures fell on Monday to their lowest in over three weeks despite supportive government data, weighed down by plunging crude oil prices and volatile global equities.
* U.S. wheat futures dropped 2 percent on Monday on technical selling and profit-taking after touching three-week highs last week, while traders eyed an eagerly awaited series of government reports on crops due on Tuesday.
* U.S. crude prices continued a relentless dive early on Tuesday approaching a 20 percent drop since the beginning of the year as analysts scrambled to cut their 2016 oil price forecasts and traders bet on further price falls.
   
MARKET NEWS
* Wall Street rallied to finish slightly higher on Monday, steadying after a brutal start to 2016, while beaten-down oil prices plunged further after a fresh tumble for Chinese stocks.
