Govt to Amplify European Market for Palm Oil Industry
30/10/2015 (Tempo.co) - Business entrepreneurs and stakeholders in the Indonesia palm oil industry strengthens European market by opening a dialogue on the use of palm oil and the management of sustainable palm oil.
Partnership Director of Indonesia Palm Oil Plantation Fund Administrator Agency Agustinus Antonius said a dialogue is necessary to be conducted simultaneously because the utilization of palm oil is often rumored negatively in overseas market.
Especially when palm oil industry is currently thriving and can be used for various types of industries, including nutritional food industry. “Major momentum such as EPOC must be used effectively, in addition to the initiative to organized similar dialogues in the international forum in order to balance information on palm oil with negative rumors that occurred overseas,” Agustinus said Thursday, Oct. 29.
Indonesia has sent delegations to the European Palm Oil Conference (EPOC) in Milan, Italy, which is held on Oct. 27-28.
The annual EPOC event held by the European Palm Oil Alliance (EPOA) aims to create transparency and equal dialogues among palm oil suppliers and its consumers or other stakeholders in Europe.
