VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch Sept 1
01/09/2015 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures ended higher on Friday, posting their first weekly gain after eight consecutive weekly declines, on the back of other commodity markets and a weaker ringgit.
* Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures edged higher on Monday on a round of end-of-month short covering while wheat was mixed and corn settled close to unchanged, traders said.
* Oil futures soared on Monday for a third consecutive day, rising more than 8 percent, as a downward revision of U.S. crude production data and OPEC’s readiness to talk with other producers helped extend the biggest three-day price surge in 25 years.
MARKET NEWS
* World stock indexes fell on Monday as a Federal Reserve official’s comments added to investor concerns the bank may start raising interest rates in September, while oil prices jumped more than 8 percent, extending their biggest price surge in 25 years.
