VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch August 20
20/08/2015 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures eased 1.2 percent on Wednesday as weak crude and competitive vegetable oils weighed on prices of the tropical oil ahead of export data due out later this week.
* U.S. soybean futures fell to multiyear lows on Wednesday in a broad-based commodities selloff and as widespread rains in the U.S. Midwest were expected to boost yields.
* U.S. crude oil slumped over 4 percent on Wednesday to hit a 6-1/2-year low and almost break below $40 per barrel, as a huge unexpected stockpile build in the United States reinforced concerns about a growing global oil glut.
MARKET NEWS
* Fears about China's economy and falling oil prices kept world equity indexes under pressure on Wednesday, while the dollar lost ground after minutes from the U.S. Federal Reserve's July meeting left uncertainty over the timing of an interest rate hike.
